i'm still in love with anything wedding related.
and to satisfy this obsession, I had an idea to draw each of the 10 disney princesses in a wedding dress thats historically accurate (or culturally) fuzed with the official gown that Disney created for them.

After nearly a year and a half's hiatus from this drawing series, IT IS BACK!
FINALLY! Princess Aurora/Briar Rose from Sleeping Beauty

(technically her official wedding dress looks exactly like her regular dress but white with some pink.)

Most of the historical aspects I got from Shoomlah. Aurora's time period is the mid 15th century (around 1450s).
I used a lot of reference from wedding paintings from the pre-renaissance period such as
monikamurrayart.com/myblog/wp-…

So for my version, i went with a fusion type look. i used Shoomlah's design as a generalization.
Compared to the Cinderella & Snow White drawings, i decided to try a different style like keeping the lineart along with having a background related to the original movie.

As for the dress itself, in the 15th century, wedding dresses werent "invented" yet. Instead, women would wear their best and prettiest dress they had and then some kind of veil (which was kinda part of their daily outfits anyways).
I kept the blue hues with the pink royal-esque cape/robe to reference her two original dress colors. The veil is white to reference the one used in the 14th century painting, along with modern day's white is purity mentality.
