Wedding Dress: Belle by ZheVickmeister Wedding Dress: Belle by ZheVickmeister

tumblr reblog:

i'm still in love with anything wedding related.
and to satisfy this obsession, I had an idea to draw each of the 10 disney princesses in a wedding dress thats historically accurate (or culturally) fuzed with the official gown that Disney created for them.

this was inspired by :iconshoomlah:'s historically accurate disney princess series… and the official disney princess inspired wedding dresses by Alfred Angelo

her official disney gown:…

Most of the historical aspects I got from Shoomlah. Belle's time period is roughly 1780s to early 1800s. Personally, I feel like the movie was of Marie Antoinette's time with the frilly table dresses and giant wigs. I mostly used fashion from Marie Antoinette's portraits and fused them with Belle's yellow dress. As with Aurora, at the time, wedding dresses weren't white (that didn't come about til late 1800s early 1900s) and just used their own super fancy dresses.

Design-wise, I went with Marie's full body portrait… as the base design, then added some roses here and there. I decided not to go with the white wigs because it didn't felt like Belle.

Decided to keep this drawing simple with softer coloring and better linework.

Hope you all enjoy this series.

This is so pretty! I love the volume that the dress creates!

That one is pretty awesome, especially how you, if I observe that correctly, combine the style of her beautiful yellow dress with her ordinary blue one.
Add to that, it looks pretty authentic for Rokoko-France!

Aww thanks! Unfortunately I didn't incorporate her blue dress. The blue actually came from the idea of "reverse Beast's colors" because Beast had a blue coat with gold accents, so since Belle's was yellow, how about adding blue accents?
But I will admit the shade of blue i used is similiar to the blue dress so u werent completely off with ur observation.

Side note: It's actually "Rococo", no "k".
